YOUTH GROUPS

We deliver weekly youth groups where the young people gather and enjoy a free hot meal and get to use facilities such as a fully equipped sports hall, live instruments and the PA system, table tennis, video games, various specialist equipment like panna cages,

basketball hoops and more. It's a dynamic group where young people ages 11 - 17

gather and essentially do life together and we aim to inspire them and discuss relatable

relevant topics.

FLAME

We also run outreach work in some deprived areas that have been identified by local

authorities as some of the worst in the areas. These are called ‘FLAME’ sessions. The

heart behind these is to reach the young people where they are and have positive

influence on them. We want to help the young people to strive for something better than

they are experiencing and show them they are loved and valued and that they also have a

purpose in life. We have partnered with various organisations and authorities to identify

what the needs are in various areas. The young people have the opportunity to do various

things such as graffiti art, music production, sports, photography and videography, or

they don’t have to do anything, and they are welcome to just chat and chill out.

ENERGIZE

Another thing that ‘The Blaze City Project’ run is dynamic music youth events. We call this

‘ENERGIZE.’ The best way to describe one of our ENERGIZE events is a high energy

indoor festival style gig! We work with dynamic bands and DJs from all over the UK and

beyond, who play everything from indie rock music to UK baseline and everything in

between. These events are always a good evening where the young people can be

themselves and enjoy live music in a safe environment.

SCHOOLS PROJECTS

We run a dynamic, engaging provision in high schools on a regular bases. In these sessions we work with classes, small groups & individuals where we help them look tackling issues that young people face. We have specially designed programs and resources,  where we explore topics that are avoided in main stream school curriculums, giving the young people a new way of engaging with content by developing podcastings sessions and other creative programs. This is designed for students who maybe are struggling in school or indeed who just need an extra bit of support in their schooling life. This is an engaging way for young people to learn and develop.

SCHOOLS WEEKS

We run a school’s tour where we would take a band into four schools in the local area in

four days over the week and then would invite all the young people to a free gig at the

end of the week. We offer a well-rounded explanation of how the Christian faith underpins

decision-making and development, within these specific areas - Spiritual Development,

Moral Development, Social Development and Cultural Development. All our school

engagement aims to be effective in developing young people's understanding in these

areas. We deliver tours on subjects such as anti-knife crime, mental health and positive

well-being and other various tailor-made subjects for different areas.

LEADERSHIP PROGRAM

At ‘The Blaze City Project,’ we not only want to invest in the ‘now’ generation of young

people, but we also want to help the people that have gone through high school and want

to develop some different skills. One of the things we have in place is our ‘junior

leadership programme’ where we take young people aged 17-19(ish) and work closely

with them to develop their own personal skills, such as leadership, communication, teamwork, confidence, planning and so much more. We will identify a few people and

invite them to volunteer alongside our projects. We give them all opportunities to lead

various things from the start, whether it is a game or a discussion or even a full session.

Then our ‘senior leaders’ will take a back seat and be there for support and general help if

needed. After the session we will have a team meeting or a one-on-one chat and discuss

what they felt went well and what they felt could be improved on.
